Human Resource Assistant
Qtrac is a company focused on providing support in the HR department, and they are seeking a Human Resource Assistant to help maintain employee databases and facilitate communication between HR and employees. The role includes various clerical and administrative tasks, assisting in payroll processing, and supporting recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities
Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, documentation, and database
Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Business Partner or management
Provides clerical support to the HR department
May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributes checks
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
Assists with new-employee background checks and drug screening
Conducts and assists audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs, HR files, and recommends corrective action
Assists with processing of onboarding and offboarding paperwork (i.e. status change forms, 401k Withdrawal form, benefits booklets, etc.)
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process
Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
Conducts or assists with onboarding, new hire orientation, and training sessions
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associated degree and/or certification in related field
1-2 years experience in Human Resources
Basic knowledge and understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Preferred
Payroll software and processing experience is a plus
