Responsibilities

Assists the Continuous Improvement Manager in developing and executing Plant Continuous Improvement policy, strategy and targets
Assists in developing and executing the strategic plan for the training and development of the associates to include: operator learning guides, new hire orientation, CI processes, etc
Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to all aspects of the facility as training is developed and updated
Communicates with management /employees and provides relevant reports and analysis to ensure appropriate decision-making as it applies to continuous improvement and training
Facilitates teams in identifying opportunities, developing and implementing corrective action including follow-up to improve the productivity, cost, quality, delivery, safety and morale at the facility
Must be capable of creating and delivering training documentation
Facilitates the training and development of employees in the current methods of such things as: machines/equipment, manufacturing or process systems and quality goals/standards
Oversees the creation and maintenance of the OPL and F-tag process(es) and follows through to completion
Facilitates the CI activities during the planned as well as unplanned shutdowns
Manages the Informance and other data on a regular basis (e.g. Loss Tree, etc.) including collection, interpretation and communication
Works overtime and a variable schedule as necessary to meet Plant objectives
Completes all other assigned duties

Required

Bachelor's degree in business administration, food science or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
5 or more years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, safety, training and/or CI
Previous training & facilitation experience
Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Informance, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and present materials in a clear, concise manner
Self motivated to work extended periods with limited direct supervision
Ability to make data driven decisions
Continuous Improvement mindset with hands on leadership skills and experience working in a team-based environment
Ability to lead in a facilitative manner, while holding others accountable
Ability to coach individuals/teams and delegate appropriately
Knowledge of project management concepts and techniques
Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures
Knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures
Knowledge of budgetary concepts and procedures
Knowledge of PC word processing/spreadsheet/presentation/database software
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement concepts and processes
Ability to strategically influence all levels regarding CI, T&D and Sustainability
Ability to serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as the team role warrants
Ability to manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment
Ability to prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reports
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, regulatory agencies and other representatives of external organizations
Ability to assist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent forms
Ability to possess operational skills of the work group and uses them to support continuous improvement efforts
Ability to work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
