Operations Intern

nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions, and they are seeking an Operations Intern to support various facets of day-to-day plant operations. This internship will provide valuable development experiences within a global manufacturing organization, focusing on production activities, quality inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Monitor daily production activities across multiple value streams and support corrective actions to resolve issues
Conduct basic quality inspections using standard quality tools and techniques
Assist in preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing production and quality data; provide observations and improvement recommendations
Learn and apply Lean methodologies and principles to support continuous improvement initiatives and develop as a Lean change agent
Support the coordination and delivery of employee training to ensure compliance with standard procedures and quality requirements
Help coordinate the accurate and timely movement of materials into, within, and out of assigned work areas
Participate in and help execute various operational and continuous improvement projects

Required

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Operations, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future. nVent does not offer sponsorship to candidates
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization
Energy to listen, desire to learn and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change
Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion

Preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated leadership experience
