Lead Financial Consultant

Responsibilities

Process routine and complex transactions in accordance with established credit union procedures and performance standards to include but not limited to opening new consumer memberships, opening fiduciary and business accounts, completing maintenance on consumer, fiduciary and business accounts, conducting research, answering and resolving member inquiries and assisting with fraud/forgery. Provide notary services and assist with all IRA requests
Perform all member onboarding processes such as establishing, maintaining and building strong member relationships by utilizing a needs-based approach to provide guidance on products and services that are appropriate for members to achieve long-term financial success
Interview members requesting consumer loans and credit cards, explain loan procedures, obtain necessary documentation, complete applications and route to the underwriting team
Possess a high-level understanding of NADA reports, loan-to-value, GAP coverage, Mechanical Repair Coverage, Debt Protection coverage and simple interest calculations
Serve as a backup to the Member Service Representative (MSR) and complete financial transactions in accordance with established credit union procedures and performance standards to include deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and redeem US Savings Bonds
Must assist with and be proficient in all lead MSR duties including not limited to, TCR management, ITC management, collection bins, and audit responsibilities
Complete all assigned leadership tasks including but not limited to end of month tasks, observations, providing universal support to entire branch, assisting with member escalations, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner
Leads by example consistently meeting personal goals while encouraging branch and individual performance by monitoring key metrics, identifying coaching opportunities and working alongside team members to meet or exceed their goals ensuring team collaboration and success
Complete branch opening and closing procedures in accordance with established credit union procedure and compliance requirements
Collaborates with branch leadership to onboard, train, and mentor new team members ensuring successful integration into their roles, integration into the team and ensuring team alignment with credit union standards
Assist branch leadership in conducting huddles and regular check-ins with team members to provide coaching and feedback on performance, share best practices, and identify development opportunities to enhance product knowledge, service delivery and member engagement
Encourage and educate members to use self-service conveniences including but not limited to Mobile Banking, Mobile Remote Deposit Capture, ATMs, ITM’s and on-line banking to enhance their service experience
Maintain in-depth knowledge of and comply with all department and security policies, procedures and federal regulations, including BSA requirements. Understand and explain NCUA share insurance, basic regulatory rules and compliance issues to members
Collaborate with branch leadership to become familiar with and utilize FMSI to schedule branch staff. Monitor, review and approve timecards and time off requests as directed by branch management in the Credit Union HRIS system
You will have the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of other duties, including working with management on enhanced scheduling, audits and performance evaluations

Required

One year to three years of similar or related experience
Consumer lending experience required
A high school education or GED
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job
Excellent written and verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Windows environment and Microsoft productivity software
