NY Green Bank is a leader in advancing New York’s energy transition, and they are seeking an intern for their Clean Transportation Team. The intern will assist in the planning and administration of electric school bus electrification efforts, including data analysis, research, and outreach to school districts.

Financial Services

Responsibilities

Study and compile information on electric school bus-related technologies to understand challenges and opportunities, including managed charging, charger/bus compatibility, and battery storage systems
Analyze data on school bus fleets, electric vehicle supply equipment, and electrical capacity at depots
Research best practices on school bus electrification
Conduct outreach to school districts and school bus contractors to provide information on school bus electrification
Help administer NYSERDA’s Electric School Bus (ESB) Fleet Electrification Plan (FEP) program that is helping the state’s 700 school districts transition to an all-electric fleet by 2035 in compliance with state law. Review draft and final FEPs, and compile data from FEPs into a statewide tracker
Prepare public-facing materials for school districts and school bus fleet operators
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Ability to demonstrate respect, equity and inclusive behavior and practices of a diverse workforce and community

Required

Current student at an accredited college or university
Excellent skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Demonstrated ability to research primary and secondary sources and accurately synthesize research findings
Strong writing and professional communication skills
