Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to support business strategies
Provide technical direction and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and architecture principles
Act as a key advisor to senior management on technology trends, innovations, and opportunities to enhance business operations
Oversee and manage end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of IT systems and applications
Drive the adoption of modern technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve team productivity and system efficiency
Mentor and develop technical talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems, identifying opportunities for improvement
Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of core functions of an insurance company and applicable concepts, with a primary focus on actuarial pricing and/or reserving
Ability to effectively communicate and influence using analyses at various levels, including senior leadership
Experience building successful business partnerships
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for mentorship and developing team members' skills
Ability to effectively delegate and promote a successful working team environment
Effective communicator and exceptional listener with experience persuading and negotiating trade-offs of scope and timelines
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues
Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and lead teams
Proactively conducts user research, customer interviews, and lean experiments
Ability to advise and manage expectations of stakeholders, earning trust and building durable relationships
Demonstrates sound judgment in making critical business decisions within scope of authority
Collaborates effectively with team members from different business units
Skilled at managing through ambiguous and challenging problems creatively and effectively and leads through change
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent product development experience
Typically, a minimum of 9 years of related work experience and at least 5 years in a manager or leadership role
Domain knowledge of insurance and/or reinsurance is required, specifically in actuarial pricing and reserving practices
