Responsibilities
Configure, customize, and maintain API YAML definitions for REST and SOAP services
Design, implement, and manage APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower
Develop and maintain DataPower routing, proxy, and gateway rules for secure internal and external communications
Deploy APIs and middleware components using existing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins-based)
Integrate enterprise components such as APIs, web services, IBM MQ, IIB/ACE broker services, and DataPower artifacts
Troubleshoot and resolve middleware and API-related issues across environments
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and deliver scalable solutions
Use shell and Python scripting to automate deployments and improve operational efficiency
Support and maintain middleware platforms across AIX, Linux, and Windows environments
Follow best practices for security, performance, and reliability in API and middleware design
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in middleware, API integration, or enterprise integration platforms
Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower
Solid understanding of REST, SOAP, API lifecycle management, and integration patterns
Experience deploying applications using CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins
Working knowledge of IBM MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IIB, and WebSphere Application Server
Proficiency with command-line tools on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms
Hands-on scripting experience using Shell and Python for automation
Familiarity with Jira and agile development workflows
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, distributed environments
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
