Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

Install, test, commission, and start up LV and MV power distribution equipment (480V–38kV)
Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits and system components
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on switchgear and associated systems
Analyze test results and assess equipment condition
Provide on-site and remote technical support, including customer training as needed
Support multiple EA projects across the U.S., including new installations and modernization work
Participate in emergency and relief assignments when required
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety practices and all applicable safety guidelines

Required

High School Diploma or GED
4+ years of directly related equipment experience (flexible depending on overall experience)
Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, including low- and medium‑voltage switchgear
Experience with breakers or high‑voltage equipment testing and interpreting test data
Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with electrical control circuits
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and ability to work safely in field environments
Must reside in the Chicago to Milwaukee (Lake Michigan) corridor to support regional EA business needs
Valid driver's license in good standing; must be at least 21 years old to participate in the company vehicle program
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
3–5 years of field service experience
Experience with protection and control relays
Experience with project management software
Knowledge of high‑voltage circuit breakers, including SF6 gas breakers
Certifications such as NETA, NICET, MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, or NFPA 70E
TWIC Card
