Assistant Professor/PC of Engineering Science
Connecticut State Community College is dedicated to providing innovative education and training focused on student success. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching courses in the Engineering discipline, evaluating student learning, and performing program coordination duties.

Responsibilities
Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date
Respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.)
Perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources
Evaluate and assess student learning
Provide student support and academic advising
Plan and execute program-related events
Assist with program reviews
Develop curriculum and periodically evaluate teaching materials
Attend workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field
Recruit, advise and retain students in these areas
Select appropriate part-time instructors
Schedule the program courses
Hire and evaluate faculty
Establish and cultivate partnerships with local organizations and employers
Arrange and supervise internships
Assess and improve the program
Carry out the essential duties of attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
Service on assigned committees and task forces
Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or a related discipline
Four (4) years college teaching experience (96+ credits). OR Two (2) years teaching experience and four (4) years' work experience in an industrial/engineering environment
Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
Strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Preferred
Experience teaching Engineering Science curriculum, e.g. Intro to Engineering, CAD systems, Engineering Statics & Dynamics, Electric Circuit Analysis, Robotics, etc
Experience with curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation
Experience Supervising faculty or staff
Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software
