Responsibilities

Model SiC and GaN devices and integrate them with advanced modular power electronics topologies
Design and build power modules using our new heterogeneous integration lab
Conduct experiments using state-of-the-art characterization instrumentation
Assess components long term reliability and conduct failure analysis
Collaborate with the power electronics systems design team to optimize the utilization of advanced devices
Present research progress at group meetings, peer review events, and technical conferences
Develop innovative solutions for utility-scale storage applications as part of an interdisciplinary team

Qualification

Required

PhD in Material Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant, related field
Proven record of technical accomplishment and strong written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at scientific conferences
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Preferred

Proficiency in LT Spice, COMSOL, and ANSYS for modeling and simulation tasks
Experience with electrical characterization systems, spectroscopy, and multi-probe characterization techniques
Experience with long-term reliability characterization and data analysis, and failure analysis
Experience in PCB design for power electronics applications
Familiarity with embedded system programming (if applicable to specific projects)
Experience with data analysis software such as MATLAB or Python for analyzing experimental data
Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to group efforts
