The intern will work closely with the Sustainability Director and gain hands-on experience in various sustainability initiatives, operations, and client relationship skills.
Food & Beverages
Responsibilities
Coordinate sustainable initiatives and events
Storytelling sharing metric-backed stories with reporting entities (e.g. AASHE STARS, GRA, etc.)
Maintain Babylon hydroponic units (germinating, planting, harvesting)
Food Insecurity and Recovery Network initiatives
Sustainable event planning
Waste auditing
Research and analysis of sustainable best practices
Results analysis: preparing metric-backed stories for Business Reviews and other touch points
Training dining team and students on sustainable initiatives and programs
Present findings in reports and presentations
Working with local and student organizations to implement and lead sustainability initiatives
Coordinate Real Food Challenge initiatives
Qualification
Required
Interest in food sustainability
General interest and knowledge of sustainability in business
Awareness of sustainability practices
Attitude of a leader
Enjoyment of inspiring others and sharing knowledge
Interpersonal skills

Inquisitive about the world around them
Must be a team player
Must be a current student at University of Pittsburgh
