Responsibilities
Processes and removes child support warrants/subpoenas issued by the Circuit Court
Ensures that all warrants/subpoenas received by the Child Support Unit are not duplicated, accurate and entered in the proper format. Closes the warrant out on the Office of the Sheriff warrant system indicating the type of closure. Daily returns warrants/subpoenas to the appropriate court after permanently closing on all systems
Prepares routine correspondence, memoranda and reports from rough draft or general verbal instructions; types of various statistical charts and forms requiring original formatting and presentation, utilizing automated office equipment
Daily maintains all statistical data for warrants/subpoenas received, entered, served, and recalled
Establishes and maintains filing system and logs to ensure that documents are readily retrievable. Ensures that all folders are pulled and returned in numerical order
Manages telephone operation to provide efficient and accurate information in response to warrants/subpoenas or other inquiries from the public, court officials, correctional institutions, and law enforcement agencies
Determines which require the direct attention of the supervisor and which should be referred to other staff members
Performs other duties as assigned. Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties assigned which may not be specifically listed in the position description but are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with coursework in typing, office practices or other related clerical subjects
One (1) year of advanced diverse and/or technical clerical experience which must have involved working with the public for at least six (6) months
Applicants must be proficient in typing, and in shorthand, where required
Meet minimum qualifications and pass an administered Administrative Aide exam
Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency
Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable
Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, motor vehicle background check, and medical examination, including drug screening and random drug and alcohol tests, where applicable
Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee
