Responsibilities
Serve as a decision-maker on financial matters, having the judgment to handle urgent financial issues autonomously
Actively participate in management team meetings. Bring a financial perspective to operational discussions, from engineering challenges to sales pipeline reviews
Partner with the CEO and other business stakeholders to model financial outcomes. Ensure that our growth targets are supported by strong unit economics and healthy cash reserves
Oversee inventory valuation, Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking (along with its completion recognition under ASC606)
Apply Lean principles to the finance function to eliminate waste in the closing process and provide financial data that supports the company’s continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives
Execute a timely and accurate closing process yourself (this is a hands-on role!) while managing a small support team
Manage liquidity in a hardware-intensive environment. Forecast cash needs to support growth without over-leveraging the business
Own and optimize our financial systems (ERP/Accounting Software) to streamline manufacturing workflows and reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or hardware environment
Strong grasp of Cost Accounting (Job Costing), Inventory Management, and financial modeling
Preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
Experience working in a Lean environment or applying Lean thinking to administrative/financial processes is a distinct advantage
