Responsibilities

Serves several primary functions within the Office of Civil Rights Compliance
Serves as one of OCRC's investigators responsible for responding to reports and complaints of discrimination, harassment, and/or sexual misconduct by students under the university's policies, including Title IX related complaints, as well as claims of retaliation
Serves as part of the OCRC's education and training team to deliver programs throughout the university regarding prevention efforts and addressing concerns related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation and workplace expectations
Assists OCRC in coordinating the university's compliance with civil rights laws by handling other related duties and initiatives as assigned
Prepares formal investigatory reports and/or analyses pursuant to university and campus procedures and internal protocols
Develops and/or presents various communication and/or training programs on behalf of the office to educate in areas of civil rights and to support the university's compliance with training and education requirements found in a variety of laws and regulations pertaining to discrimination and harassment
Collaborates, advises, and consults with other university departments and offices on civil rights as well as matters pertaining discrimination and harassment
May serve as an experienced analyst, investigator, and consultant in various areas of civil rights through research, assessments, analyses, discussions, and investigations
Oversees and monitors university activities to ensure legal compliance and best practices in areas such as recruitment/hiring; ADA accommodations; Title IX, etc
Represents the office on specific university committees, in meetings, and in outreach opportunities as needed by the office

Required

Bachelor's degree
2 years of experience in compliance, investigatory, or related field
Proficient communication skills
Effective conflict management skills
Demonstrates ability to maintain confidential information

Highly thorough and dependable
Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work within tight time frames and meet strict deadlines

Develops and delivers effective presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access
Strong working knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery, Title VII, and other federal and state requirements related to sexual harassment and misconduct

Preferred

Master's degree preferably in legal, EEO compliance, human resources, student affairs or other related areas OR
PhD degree in legal, EEO compliance, human resources, student affairs or other related areas OR
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
