Responsibilities
Manages the physical therapy teams for the stroke and brain injury programs
Participates in hiring decisions, staff development, and the performance review process
Manages the day to day operations and works with interdisciplinary team members for program development
Participates in the Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program
Patient care responsibilities commensurate with operational needs
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
Participates in the professional development of staff at all levels
Collaborates with the Therapy Managers, along with Human Resource management, addressing staff development and disciplinary processes
Participates in the interview processes of new candidates, as well as those seeking promotion
Orients new staff to the unit and program. Assists with discipline specific orientation as needed in collaboration with Manager
Supports department, per manager, with ongoing departmental responsibilities
Prepares performance appraisals, with direct manager, for therapists, assistants, and aides assigned to them
Ensures compliance with accreditation and certification standards as well as developing and implementing quality assurance and program evaluation systems
Attends official conferences and keeps the department informed of changes and updates in physiotherapy-related policies
Develops a reporting system for monitoring policy compliance
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
6 years of clinical experience with supervisory experience required
Valid PA state license in Physical Therapy
BLS, CPR certification required via AHA
