Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze individual, trust, and pass-through tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax codes, laws and regulations, including complex multi-state returns and separate activity schedules
Maintain accurate and updated documentation of tax preparation work
Stay up-to-date on tax codes, laws, and regulations and provide updates to associates on your team
Keep managers apprised on status of projects and deadlines
Actively participate in client internal meetings and discussions
Assist with responses to IRS and state tax notices including speaking with the IRS (or other state tax agencies); and
Conduct research on tax matters and provide advice to clients
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
3-5 + years of public accounting firm experience
Demonstrated experience with pass-through returns
CPA/EA, or in process of obtaining a CPA/EA
Ability to work overtime during busy season
Experience in multi-state returns is required
Experience or interest in family office tax preparation work
Experience or an interest in preparing multi-state partnership, S-Corp, and individual returns
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to meet a deadline
Ability to provide stellar customer service to clients
Ability to collaborate with colleagues
Ability to follow directions and use creativity to solve problems
Excellent judgement and curiosity
Public accounting experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Preferred
Knowledge of Prosystems or CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement Trial Balance software
Knowledge of XCM Tracking Systems
