Shift Leader - Engagement Center
Liliʻuokalani Trust is dedicated to supporting opportunity youth aged 16 to 26 through programs focused on transitional support and career pathway development. The Shift Leader will oversee staff during shifts, ensuring efficient operations, high service standards, and supporting the development of team members.

Responsibilities
Support the mission and vision of the Engagement Center and the Huliau Program
Communicate effectively with department managers to ensure alignment with departmental goals and activities
Collaborate with leadership to advance organizational objectives
Partner with Lydia House’s leadership to facilitate the successful implementation of program initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and addressing the needs of opportunity youth
Partner with the manager to identify staffing needs, help prepare draft shift schedules, and support smooth, consistent team coverage
Serve as a support resource by helping gather and share workplace concerns, facilitating open communication, and supporting early, solution-focused conversations when issues arise
Ensure quality control and compliance with Lydia House’s standards
Contribute to the Trust's success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improves team and organization results
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and remain calm under pressure
Demonstrates a high tolerance for ambiguity, emergence, and divergent work
Exhibits strong systems thinking, critical thinking, design thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities
Possesses proficiency across all phases of program design, including but not limited to: Outstanding oral, written, and visual communication skills
Deep understanding of adult learning principles and effective coaching strategies
Alignment with Queen's legacy: Understanding and appreciation of Queen Liliʻuokalani's story, her legacy and the Hawaiian Culture is foundational to staff's commitment to working with our Hawaiian children, families and communities
Demonstrates respect for and appreciation of Hawaiian values history, and culture, understanding its implication in one's work, in fostering meaningful relationships, and in embracing the community served
Committed to creating and reinforcing an environment of continuous learning and improvement
