Program Distribution Coordinator

The Food Depot is seeking a Program Distribution Coordinator responsible for managing the ordering and distribution of food products. This role ensures compliance with food safety standards and oversees inventory management and logistics operations.

Responsibilities

Manage and place weekly orders for TEFAP, purchased food, dairy, produce, frozen, and hygiene products in alignment with the weekly offerings list for Casita de Comida distribution
Forecast demand, analyze usage trends, and coordinate ordering with the Product Distribution Specialist to ensure accuracy, continuity of supply, and proper allocation
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and back stock to prevent shortages, over-ordering, and product expiration
Enforce strict FIFO, lot tracking, and expiration date rotation
Maintain organized storage areas and accurate inventory records
Perform cycle counts and monthly physical inventories with zero tolerance for unresolved discrepancies
Coordinate deliveries to Casita and partner agencies, and schedule pickups with vendors and donors
Verify the accuracy, quality, and condition of all inbound and outbound product
Support client distribution days at Casita and all other TFD distributions with efficient, professional service
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, reefer box trucks, and any other TFD-owned vehicles in full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable safety regulations

Required

Class B CDL with current DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire; training provided by The Food Depot)
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory control, stocking, or warehouse operations, with proven ability to accurately stock shelves, coolers, and freezers; maintain organized storage areas; and rotate product in accordance with food safety and quality standards
Experience with inventory systems and basic data entry for receiving, adjustments, and reconciliation
Demonstrated knowledge of FIFO, lot tracking, expiration management, and cycle counting
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold storage and warehouse environments
Clean New Mexico driving record (DOT compliant)
Negative pre-employment drug screening

Preferred

Experience with CERES or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Forklift certification (Training provided by The Food Depot)
