The intern will generate stories for the school's news and faculty insights pages, identifying and pitching compelling narratives that showcase the school's community and its impact.

Responsibilities
Generates stories for the school's news and faculty insights pages. Topics include: Student and alumni success, Faculty scholarship and teaching, and Spotlights. on the school's departments, programs, centers, and institutes
Identifies, pitches, and tells compelling and authentic stories that showcase the school's vibrant intellectual community and its impacts
May also be combined with a Hamilton Lugar School Marketing Cloud internship
Writes 500-800-word news and feature stories for the school
Researches and fact checks information, including ensuring accuracy of quotes used in articles
Complies with IU editorial guidelines and meet marketing and communications deadlines
Learns and follows best practices for accessible content
Qualification
Required
Enrolled as a student at Indiana University pursuing a major or minor within the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies
Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with meticulous attention to detail
Organized, with the ability to plan effectively and meet deadlines
A passion for higher education and research
Ability to begin work in spring 2026 and continue through 2026-27 academic year
Preferred
Previous experience with news reporting, blogging, or other public-facing writing
