Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Perform full-cycle general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations; manage month-end and year-end close
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries using QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems
Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow analysis, and forecasting
Support regulatory reporting and compliance efforts, including SOX and securities law requirements
Maintain detailed documentation of financial transactions and ensure accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping
Prepare financial reports and provide insights for management review
Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules and documentation
Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices across various accounting contexts
Manage payroll tax, property tax, business income tax filings, and other compliance-related tasks
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–3 years of experience in corporate accounting, including GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation
Proficiency with QuickBooks and other ERP systems
Intermediate Excel skills
Experience with SOX compliance and regulatory reporting
Ability to interpret complex financial reports and conduct detailed analysis
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Fast learner with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Ability to commute to Pasadena, CA 91107
Ability to relocate to Pasadena, CA 91107 before starting work
Preferred
Experience in agriculture and/or import/export operations
Hands-on experience with business income tax, payroll tax, and property tax filings
Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location accounting
Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin)
CPA or equivalent certification
