Responsibilities

Counsel clients with both publicly held and private (including family-owned) companies across industries (financial services, technology, media, property management, construction, aviation) on employment compliance, multistate/global employment issues, classification, wage & hour, leave laws, ADA/disability accommodation, executive terminations and severance, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, etc
Handle due diligence in mergers & acquisitions: evaluate target liabilities, assess risk from pending or possible employment disputes, advise on employment contracts and executive departures, draft transition or separation agreements
Direct sensitive internal investigations involving harassment, discrimination, ethical complaints, executive conduct; work with C-suite or board where required; lead workplace policy review and implementation
Design, review, and implement employment policies, handbooks, leave/disability/accommodations programs, compliance protocols, especially in multistate or cross-border settings
Appear before administrative agencies (EEOC, state human rights or labor agencies, Dept. of Labor), arbitrate or defend employer in regulatory investigations and state/local enforcement actions
Mentor junior and mid-level associates; supervise support staff; contribute to recruiting, development, and quality control of work product
Lead employment-law litigation: defend class, collective and representative actions; single & multi-plaintiff cases involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, ERISA, etc. Manage summary judgement motions, trials, appeals, and arbitration before forums like AAA / JAMS / FINRA

Required

J.D. (or equivalent) from an accredited law school; excellent academic credentials
Minimum 5 years of labor & employment law experience, with a blend of litigation, counseling, and transactional/due diligence work (including M&A or corporate deals)
Admitted to practice in New Jersey and/or admitted in New York
Demonstrated expertise litigating complex employment cases (class/collective actions, multi-district/regional disputes), handling internal investigations, and implementing/diversifying compliance and policy work across many jurisdictions
Strong drafting, analytical, strategic judgment, and client-management skills
Ability to handle high pressure, evolving statutory landscapes (e.g. COVID-related regulations, leave laws, privacy/data, discrimination, protections for accommodation and other emerging issues)
