Responsibilities
Provide guidance to the patient on how to receive the care requested
Contact provider offices to determine if patient was seen and acquire referral results
Track completion of all referrals (deferred to the network) by maintaining a suspense system
Utilize office automation equipment to compile and type a variety of material including progress reports or memos
Complete routine periodic reports to determine percentage of referrals that are being verified or closed correctly
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service to patients; utilizing automated computer systems to prepare reports, memos, or correspondence; and maintaining files for the facility
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct Deposit of Pay is required
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees
