CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER CLERK
USAJOBS is seeking a Child Development Center Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support to Child and Youth Programs. This role involves assisting the Child Development Director and maintaining office records, correspondence, and visitor interactions.

Responsibilities
Performs clerical and administrative support of the office/organization using varied functions of multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents and formats, to include but not limited to childcare enrollment/registrations, childcare services, file maintenance, immunizations, payments/fees, waiting lists, and nutrition services
Prepares a wide variety of recurring and non-recurring correspondence, reports, and other documents
Establishes, updates, and maintains office records of various types
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives
Receives telephone calls and greets visitors

Males must be registered for Selective Service
A State Criminal Repository (SCHR) check as well as a National Sex Offender Public Website check will be completed on any person selected for this position
An Installation Records Check (IRC), a Defense Control Investigation and Index (DCII) and a Child Care National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI) every 5 years
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

Must provide evidence of required immunizations and maintain current immunizations
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
Position provides support and assistance during fire, safety, and other emergency when required
Must complete a physical examination no later than 60 days after appointment and update every three years
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
Must complete additional training requirements to include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, rescue breathing, customer service, cash handling and Child and Youth Programs VLS courses/modules
This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence
Knowledge of format, rules, procedures, and operations applicable to clerical assignments to prepare/review routine correspondence/reports, screen telephone calls and visitors, maintain files/records, review and process mail, and perform clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources and other administrative work of organization
Skill in typing
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy
Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for routine reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence
