Assistant II- Referral Center- FT Day Shift
UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. The role involves working in a high-volume Referral Center to establish and maintain relationships with referral entities while handling a large volume of phone calls and providing customer service within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
Establish, support and maintain relationships with internal and external referral entities, such as medical groups, IPA's, Health Plans and community physicians
Handle extremely high volume of phone calls
Problem solve, negotiate and research for answers
Effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
Appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Understanding of medical terminology as well as insurance programs and payors
Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a Customer Service position within the health care environment
Knowledge of hospital based registration/scheduling system to register patients
Demonstrated skill to communicate via telephone and handle extremely high volume of phone calls
Ability to problem solve, negotiate and research for answers
Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional
Preferred
Previous call center experience
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
