Mechanical Design Engineer Systems Integration

They are seeking an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design, analysis, and resolution of routine engineering problems while contributing to small projects under supervision.

Responsibilities

Applies basic technical knowledge to design, analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles
Utilizes 3D CAD software for theoretical design solutions
Develops aircraft integration design solutions and assigned structural mounting provisions with a focus toward requirements definition and deliverables
Details designs and drawings related to component assembly, structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices
Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to project engineering staff. May be required to make technical presentations to project staff
May provide direction to design staff or technicians
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Will assist in and verify aircraft integration or testing and validation of hardware and systems prior to aircraft integration, on-site as well as at Flight Operations facilities
Performs other duties as assigned
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Required

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Aptitude for 3D CAD engineering software such as Pro/E CREO, SolidWorks, or NX
Must have a basic understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory
Demonstrates the ability to follow and apply basic engineering knowledge, adapt standard techniques, and utilize the required diagnostics, tools and equipment, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment
Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience
Must be able to work both independently and on a team
Able to work extended hours as required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
