The Lead Corporate Accountant role is responsible for the accurate preparation of corporate accounting journal entries, month-end closing entries, and variance analysis, while also assisting with audits and team training.

Responsibilities
Accurately preparing and posting journal entries
Performing general ledger account and bank reconciliations
Preparing Financial Reports/Schedules
Preparing daily/monthly schedules for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
Preparing audit schedules as needed
Assisting other Accounting staff as needed
Possible coverage of other functions within the Accounting Department
Assisting with team training and development
Preparing standard operating procedures and other training materials
Qualification
Required
4-year College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
5-8 years of related Accounting experience
Must be organized
Must have good communication skills (written and verbal)
Must have great attention to detail
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
Must be able to meet deadlines
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. (Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency)
Ability to interact positively with others and be a team player
Must be a fast learner, and able to take initiative to problem-solve
Must be able to take ownership of their work and should be able to work independently
Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude
Ability to take direction and provide feedback
Preferred
Great Plains experience a plus
Previous experience in (auto) finance a strong plus but not required
