EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MANAGER -STATE GOVERNMENT RELATIONS - 2 OPENINGS

The External Affairs Manager - State Government Relations will support and lead multi-state legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts, developing strategies and building relationships with policymakers to advance community-based and rural health care providers.

Responsibilities
Lead multi- state government relations strategies aligned with organizational priorities
Track, analyze, and influence state legislation and regulations
Draft testimony, comment letters, and policy/data briefs
Build relationships with legislators, agencies, coalitions, and members
Represent OCHIN in hearings, workgroups, and advocacy forums
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of multi-state government relations experience required
Experience executing multi-state government health care legislative initiatives required
Demonstrated success influencing state policy outcomes
Strong writing and advocacy skills
Skilled at producing high-quality advocacy materials to support state advocacy and member engagement
Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment. Travel up to 70% is required for this position
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience /working knowledge in health information technology highly preferred. Candidates with this experience will be given priority
Experience with community health centers and/or rural hospitals highly preferred. Candidates with this experience will be given priority
