Responsibilities

Oversees the work performed by a small team of US and local national employees
Performs tasks related to all technical aspects of the disposal program
Advises and guides agencies and/or holding activities on the interpretation and use of disposal policies
Performs a wide variety of technical tasks relating to property disposal system through reutilization, transfer, donation (R/T/D) and sales of excess DoD property involving a large variety of specialized items and equipment
Performs tasks related to the oversight of disposal contracts
May be responsible for the selection of property for sale and the preparation of sales write-ups
Ensures property is efficiently and effectively accounted for, described, and made available to organizations for screening

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled
To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes: Disposes of property through reutilization, transfer, donation, sales, abandonment and/or destruction or removal via service contract
Ensures sales/referrals are conducted in accordance with good merchandising practices and regulatory requirements
Analyzes business-based performance measures and develops new solutions and recommendations to enhance services
Researches property disposal problems and develops corrective actions
Works with a small team to accomplish tasks and/or projects
Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education
If using education to meet basic qualifications, YOU MUST SUBMIT A TRANSCRIPT as supplemental documentation
To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree of LL.M., if related
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade levels GS-11
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations
