Investigating, filing, and litigating state postconviction motions for relief in local circuit courts
Appealing to the Florida Supreme Court and filing petitions for writs of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court
Preparing, filing, and litigating habeas corpus petitions in federal district courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court
Working closely with a team consisting of a lead attorney, second chair attorney, and an investigator
Collaborating with clients, witnesses, and forensic experts to challenge convictions and sentences
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited U.S. law school
Member in good standing with the Florida Bar
Excellent writing skills
Preferred
Former public defenders with courtroom experience
