College Recruiter
Lakeshore College is seeking a College Recruiter to serve as the primary contact for prospective students throughout the recruitment and application process. The role involves building relationships with student prospects, guiding them through the application process, and supporting their transition to the college.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Cultivate and maintain relationships with student prospects to guide them to identify their educational goals through web inquiries, incoming phone calls, outreach, and referrals
Represent the college at business visits, college fairs, and community events to promote the college and attract prospective students
Actively encourage and assist students with Lakeshore support services to best support their transition to Lakeshore
Track prospective students to identify their needs throughout the recruitment process and monitor progression of assigned students through the application funnel
Support and guide prospective students through Lakeshore’s career assessment and development activities to assist students in identifying career goals
Guide students through the application process, including assisting with the completion of forms and supporting documents
Build relationships with students through the Appreciative Advising model
Develop and execute student communications, including content creation and strategic messaging to enhance the student experience
Assist in the development and distribution of recruitment and admissions materials
Collaborate with Dual Credit on the application, selection, and registration of high school students into various types of dual credit opportunities
Serve on planning teams to offer high-impact recruitment events which include planning, logistics, and execution, ensuring seamless delivery and achieving strategic goals
Build and maintain relationships with Lakeshore stakeholders such as, community organizations, and businesses to advocate for and promote Lakeshore programs, courses, and services
Provide input towards the development and implementation of new services and processes in response to student needs and trends
Keep the Recruitment and Dual Credit teams informed of processes, obstacles, or concerns that impact performance
Provide back-up staffing coverage for the Dual Credit team, which may include high school visits and stakeholder support
Provide evening coverage and walk-in support in the Recruitment and Dual Credit office
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline required
Two to four years of relevant occupational experience required
Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction
Ability to guide students through educational planning and career exploration to ensure student success
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Adapt quickly to new and changing technology
Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail
Work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision
Present self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner at all times
Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines
Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students and all stakeholders
Employment conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) with the results acceptable to the College
Preferred
Certified career development facilitator a plus
