Responsibilities
Design and develop roadway and highway improvement projects from concept through final plans
Prepare roadway geometry, grading, profiles, cross sections, and drainage layouts
Produce plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E)
Coordinate with agencies such as PennDOT, City of Philadelphia, SEPTA, and local municipalities
Collaborate with traffic, structural, drainage, and utility teams
Support permitting, bidding, and construction phase services
Mentor junior engineers (for senior-level candidates)
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil Engineering
4–15 years of roadway or transportation design experience
Strong knowledge of PennDOT and AASHTO design standards
Proficiency in MicroStation / OpenRoads (Civil 3D experience considered)
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred
MS in Civil Engineering
PE license preferred (or on track)
