Program Manager – Iron Castings & Machining (Non-IT)
Applix is seeking a Program Manager for Iron Castings & Machining, responsible for the end-to-end sourcing and execution of iron casting and machined components. This role involves collaboration across engineering, sourcing, quality, and supplier development to ensure production readiness and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Own and manage sourcing programs for iron castings and machined iron components from quote through production
Lead supplier source moves and transitions, including timing, risk assessment, and execution planning
Develop, analyze, and compare supplier quotes to determine best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Coordinate tooling moves, transfers, and readiness associated with supplier changes
Monitor and manage buffer inventory strategies to ensure uninterrupted production
Collaborate cross-functionally with Category Buyers, Supplier Development Engineers, Design Engineers, Quality, and Operations
Ensure suppliers meet all quality, volume, capacity, and launch readiness requirements
Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, and long-term suitability
Identify program risks early and drive mitigation plans to prevent cost, quality, or schedule impacts
Negotiate with suppliers to secure commercially and operationally optimal terms
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and budgets
Prepare and present clear, data-driven updates to project stakeholders and leadership
Document program decisions, supplier performance, and lessons learned for future initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: sourcing, purchasing, casting, machining, engineering, project/program management, supplier development, quality, or supply chain
Strong understanding of iron casting and machining processes and supplier ecosystems
Proven experience managing source transitions, new supplier introductions, or tool moves
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, quotes, and technical information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management capabilities
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Experience working with cross-functional and global teams
Solid understanding of supply chain and procurement principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and ERP systems
Strong business judgment and ownership mindset
Preferred
Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is a plus
