Responsibilities

Take unemployment claims, identify eligibility issues, non-monetary investigations/adjudications, audit work search activity, provide customers information on unemployment claims, online support and perform other unemployment insurance eligibility related duties
Perform duties related to the Office of Re-Employment Assistance including but not limited to the following: Customer service assistance, handling inbound and outbound calls, basic claim intake, creating issues, and answering questions and concerns from customers in a timely manner
Proficient communication, oral and written
Processes overpayments to include establishing and cancelling overpayments
Possess the flexibility to alternate between various duties and programs in the Benefits Department
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, if needed
Some travel may be required

Required

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills along with verbal/written communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must be computer literate and have the ability to work independently and with others
Must have a commitment to quality and accountability
A broad knowledge of MDES laws, regulations, programs and agency policies related to unemployment
Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, if needed
Some travel may be required
All potential applicants are required to have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check

Preferred

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year (4) college or university and two (2) years of experience directly related to the described job duties or similar review and investigative review processes
