Responsibilities
Keep inmates' accounts up to date and accurate
Monitor all inmate releases and transfers
Answer requests and inquiries concerning inmate accounts
Resolve discrepancies
Type memos
Provide account summaries
Return telephone inquiries
Post entries into accounting software
Post accounting data to ledgers, books, registers, and journals
Make routine adjustments to accounts
Prepare daily and monthly reports
Take routine trial balances
Prepare routine and proceduralized financial reports
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
