HEALTH INSURANCE SPECIALIST

The Center for Medicare is part of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), and they are seeking a Health Insurance Specialist. In this role, you will serve as a senior advisor and data expert to the Director and Deputy Director of the Medicare Drug and Health Plan Contract Group, focusing on environmental trends and emerging healthcare technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and provide guidance and direction on a vast array of policies or operations related to the collection, security and release of data contained in CMS, CM, and MCAG’s programs
Coordinate large scale data driven projects that may span across multiple Agencies, including implementation of major legislative changes and other sensitive matters on a wide range of significant operational, and data driven policy issues
Work with the regional office staff, state and local officials and outside groups and organizations to identify, analyze, and resolve problems pertaining to Medicare and other health insurance plans

Required

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Assisting with the development and implementation of high priority data analytics projects concerning Medicare or private health insurance; 2. Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues related to the implementation of legislative or operational changes to Medicare; AND 3. Conducting data analyses of raw, unstructured data to develop reports used in the development of Medicare policy
