Campaign Organizer
The Outreach Team is a national field firm focused on civic engagement campaigns aimed at creating a fairer and healthier society. They are seeking a part-time Campaign Organizer to build grassroots support, engage with voters, and oversee field operations for a California State Assembly candidate's campaign. The role involves recruiting and managing volunteers, coordinating community outreach, and implementing voter engagement strategies.

Responsibilities
Identify and recruit new volunteers via calls and text, community outreach, digital outreach, and more for supporter list building
Maintain detailed supporter and volunteer tracking to ensure strong follow-up and retention
Recruit supporters and volunteers into meaningful campaign action, such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and more
Train volunteers through grassroots organizing skill sessions
Track and report voter engagement metrics to inform strategic adjustments
Build relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and advocacy groups to expand the campaign’s reach
Represent the campaign in community spaces and uplift partner organizations
Plan and execute campaign activities that build awareness and engagement, such as town halls, rallies, and meet-and-greets with the candidate
Drive turnout to campaign events and actions
Activate social media supporters to amplify campaign messages
Use peer-to-peer texting tools and relational organizing platforms
Send timely email campaigns to recruit participants and promote events
Track all outreach efforts and report progress through daily numbers and weekly reports
Qualification
Required
A deep commitment to equity and justice is non-negotiable
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments
Clear and effective communication abilities, both written and spoken
Comfort using campaign tools like VAN, Hustle, Impactiv, and Mailchimp
Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to motivate, grow, and manage a team
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Ability to work long hours while maintaining extreme attention to detail and instilling that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Preferred
Prior experience on issue or electoral campaigns
Background in event planning, community organizing, or managing paid employees
Experience working with volunteers, especially in student or grassroots contexts
Familiarity with Google Suite, data tracking tools, VAN, and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
Local knowledge of North Carolina communities
