Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing Strategy

They are seeking a strategic Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial guidance on marketing investments, evaluate subscriber unit economics, and deliver ROI analysis to drive profitable subscriber growth for their streaming platform.

Responsibilities
Partner with marketing leadership to provide financial oversight and strategic analysis for a broad portfolio of brand-building initiatives, including community engagement programs, strategic partnerships, social media initiatives, and experiential marketing
Own the financial modeling and ongoing analysis of subscriber economics including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), payback periods, and cohort-based retention to guide marketing budget allocation, assess channel efficiency, and build business cases for strategic initiatives
Measure and analyze marketing return on investment across all channels and initiatives by developing attribution models, performance benchmarks, and profitability assessments that translate performance data into actionable insights informing budget allocation and strategic decision-making
Build financial models to forecast subscriber growth, revenue projections, and retention economics, identifying trends that impact unit economics and informing strategic investment decisions to improve customer acquisition efficiency and reduce churn
Evaluate the financial performance and ROI of content investments by analyzing viewership metrics, cost per hour viewed, and content-driven subscriber acquisition to inform future production and licensing budgets and assess P&L impact
Conduct financial and behavioral analyses on viewer demographics, preferences, and engagement patterns to identify high-value audience segments and inform content acquisition, marketing, and programming strategies that maximize LTV and minimize churn
Design and analyze experiments related to content presentation, promotional strategies, and user experience to optimize subscriber acquisition costs, viewing engagement, and retention metrics with measurable financial impact
Build comprehensive dashboards and reports for leadership and cross-functional teams, translating complex financial and performance data into clear, actionable insights that drive decision-making around CAC optimization, churn reduction, and marketing ROI
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field; candidates with Statistics or Data Science backgrounds who have strong financial acumen are also encouraged to apply
4-6 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or business analytics, preferably within streaming media, entertainment, subscription businesses, or high-growth technology companies with direct exposure to financial planning, budget management, CAC/LTV economics, and marketing ROI analysis
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; strong SQL and data visualization skills (Tableau, Looker, or similar); experience with Python or R for statistical analysis is a plus
Strong understanding of subscription business economics, unit economics frameworks, marketing attribution, financial planning processes, and cohort-based retention analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to build business cases, extract insights from complex datasets, and translate them into financial recommendations and strategic guidance
Clear communication skills with experience presenting financial analysis and data-driven recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership
Passion for entertainment content and understanding of what drives viewer engagement, retention, and satisfaction in streaming platforms
