ASST PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities

You will determine long and short-range needs for resources such as manpower, materials, equipment and staff support
You will conduct meetings or briefings to ensure flow of information regarding production schedule, cost effectiveness, or material issues
You will direct production efforts committed to the sequencing of ship overhaul or repair projects
You will manage material or labor costs during the production phase to ensure proper execution of shipboard projects
You will develop short and long-range plans to provide manning, material, and equipment to support ship overhaul or repair projects
You will identify manning priorities and distribute personnel assignments accordingly

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

You may be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
This position may require exposure to high noise levels
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements
This is a Mission Essential position
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, and executing production work of various trades in support of ship system overhaul, repair, or modification projects to ensure completion of work phases in accordance with project schedules
