Responsibilities
Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's origin, taste, and preparation methods
Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel's point-of-sales system; check completed orders with guest's original order
Coordinate food timings. Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
Properly and accurately close members checks; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items
Qualification
Required
At least 2 years of high-volume serving experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or club environment
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits. Ability to upsell
Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of NorthStar POS preferred/is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs
US work authorization is required
