Value Add Fabrication Technician

Responsibilities

Accurately read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine project specifications
Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and squares to verify dimensions and tolerances
Safely and efficiently operate saw equipment including chop saws, band saws, and miter saws to cut materials according to specifications
Perform quality checks to ensure fabricated parts meet company standards and project requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work area, while following all plant safety and PPE guidelines
Assist in material handling, loading, and unloading of parts as needed
Perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment as necessary to ensure optimal operation
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow technicians to complete projects accurately and on schedule
Work independently or in a team environment, showing initiative to identify and resolve problems during fabrication
Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership regarding project updates and any potential issues

Required

Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for extended periods
Willingness to work overtime or weekends when needed to meet production deadlines
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Strong ability to use measuring tools accurately
Skilled operation of chop saws, band saws, and miter saws
Attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality fabricated parts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good mechanical intuition and manual dexterity
Ability to maintain focus and efficiency while managing multiple fabrication tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision

Preferred

Previous fabrication or metalworking experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is strongly preferred but not necessary
Familiarity with OSHA Safety Training for Industrial Equipment is a plus
Experience with welding and other metal fabrication processes is a strong benefit
