RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR

The role involves conducting research on blood coagulation disorders, supervising junior staff, and participating in grant writing and academic authorship.

Responsibilities
Develop, design, and conduct research experiments under the direction of the PI mentor
Conducting research centering on studies of blood coagulation disorders using zebrafish models
Participate in the supervision of laboratory technicians and graduate students under the direction of the PI mentor
Participate in writing grants and scientific papers, present at meetings, and generate data for grants
Qualification
Required
PhD degree and at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience in the field of blood coagulation disorders
Proven experience conducting research using zebrafish models with techniques including injection, in situ hybridization, and Immunostaining
Seven-ten years of directly related laboratory experience
Exceptional work ethic in a highly competitive environment
Ability to communicate clearly the results of his/her experiments to other team members
Strong knowledge of molecular and cell biology, especially in the field of epigenetics and oncology
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and GraphPad Prism
Familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Proficient in record keeping
A solid command of tissue culture and in conducting studies in an enhanced BSL-2 environment is necessary
Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for data analysis and interpretation
Hands on skills and experience with all standard molecular and cell biology techniques (e.g. qPCR, ChIP-PCR, IP and Co-IP, Cloning, Western blot, microscopy, genetic modification)
Advanced skills in manipulation of zebrafish embryos, including injections, genome editing, and phenotyping
