Arizona Community Foundation is dedicated to supporting educational opportunities through scholarships. The Scholarship Outreach Intern will conduct outreach activities in Yuma and surrounding communities to promote scholarship opportunities and assist students with the application process.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-person outreach at high schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and community events throughout Yuma and the surrounding area

Meet one-on-one and in small groups with students to discuss ACF scholarship opportunities and answer questions

Table at school and community events to share scholarship materials and respond to inquiries

Make outbound phone calls, emails, and follow-ups to students, counselors, and partner organizations

Deliver short presentations and classroom visits about ACF scholarships, eligibility, timelines, and application tips

Provide guidance on navigating the online scholarship application, including required documents and deadlines

Track outreach activities and share feedback with ACF staff to help improve outreach strategies

Required

Current undergraduate or graduate student

Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with individuals and groups

Organized, reliable, and able to manage time independently

Comfortable making phone calls and engaging with new people

Ability to travel locally within Yuma for outreach activities

Proficient with computers and able to operate general office equipment to include fax machines, scanners, copiers, postal machines, printers, etc

Must be available for occasional evening and/or weekend work hours

Preferred

Preferred fields: education, communications, social work, public policy, nonprofit management, or related areas

Experience working with students, schools, or community organizations

Familiarity with Yuma communities and schools strongly preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required
