Associate Data Center Facilities Technician, Fire Life Safety
Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking an Associate Data Center Facilities Technician specializing in Fire Life Safety. In this role, you will operate, monitor, and support facility activities at Google's data centers, ensuring the maintenance and repair of various fire life safety systems while developing your technical skills alongside experienced technicians.

Responsibilities
Inspect, test, maintain, and repair a variety of fire life safety systems, including fire alarm systems (panels, sensors, strobes, horns), fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action), fire suppression systems (clean agent, CO2), fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems, exit signs
Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer recommendations
Troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement effective repairs
Operate, monitor, and maintain fire life safety systems to ensure optimal performance and readiness
Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in fire life safety systems. Follow established procedures for emergency response and evacuation
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related training program certification in a relevant technical field (eg. CMCO, SMT, etc.)
Experience in Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or electrical
Ability to work non-standard hours
Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses
Preferred
Experience at Apprenticeship or Technician level in a critical environment
Ability to comfortably perform repetitive technical and manual work
Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call
