Responsibilities

Join us for an engaging virtual session where you can share your career journey and daily experiences in accounting
Inspire students to explore careers in accounting and finance
Provide insights into the skills and experiences necessary for success in this field
Incorporate visuals such as pictures, videos, and infographics to enhance engagement and illustrate key points, making the content more relatable and memorable for students
Highlight the importance of analytical thinking, attention to detail, and technology in careers such as: Accountant, Financial Analyst, Auditor, Tax Specialist, Forensic Accountant, Budget Analyst, Bookkeeper, Financial Consultant, Business Analyst, Fintech Developer
Introduction (5 minutes): Briefly introduce yourself and your current role in accounting. Share key milestones from your career journey. Incorporate visuals such as pictures, videos, and infographics to enhance engagement and illustrate key points, making the content more relatable and memorable for students
Career Path Discussion (5 minutes): Discuss why you chose a career in accounting and finance. Highlight specific projects or experiences that shaped your career
Interactive Q&A (15 minutes): Open the floor for students to ask questions. Encourage discussions about what excites students about accounting and finance
Inspiration, Advice, and Conclusion (5 minutes): Share advice for students interested in pursuing a career in accounting. Discuss the importance of skills like problem-solving, organization, and communication. Summarize key points from the session. Encourage students to consider careers in accounting as they approach high school

These connector sessions are designed to give middle school students early exposure to career pathways as they begin thinking about which academy may be the best fit for their interests and strengths. Conversations with professionals help students make meaningful connections between their learning, future opportunities, and the academies available to them
