Electrical/Electronics Technician II - The Toro Company
The Toro Company is a Minnesota-based company that has been providing world-class equipment since 1914. The Electrical/Electronics Technician II will support the Battery, Systems, and Harness teams by assembling, modifying, testing, and documenting electrical and electronic systems for electrified products.

Responsibilities
Construct and test prototype battery packs (Li-Ion, etc.), chargers, electrical and electronic components and systems, and finished products and machines
Construct and test prototype harnesses and validate functionality in machines or stationary equipment
Assemble and rework circuit board assemblies (soldering, reflow, and inspection)
Work independently and under the supervision and direction of others
Identify, order and inventory parts and assemblies and test equipment
Coordinate test plan logistics with internal and external test facilities
Create design and test documentation, updates, work instructions
Manage Electronics Lab, order parts, maintain organization and cleanliness of the lab, track test equipment
Test electrical components, systems, and PCBs using power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, CAN bus analysis tools, signal generators, etc
Other work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates degree or equivalent 2-year electrical/electronic technical degree with minimum of five (5) years of experience as an electrical or electronics technician -- OR -- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (or equivalent) and minimum two (2) years of experience in related electrical or electronics role
Demonstrated capabilities in soldering, desoldering, rework of circuit board assemblies
Demonstrated ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wire harness drawings, and other electrical system documentation
Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities of electrical systems or electronics
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication in English, collaboration and teamwork skills, flexibility, self-motivation, dependability, punctuality, etc
Demonstrated ability and self-motivation to learn new skills, technologies, procedures, test equipment, techniques, and software applications
Demonstrated ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
Must be able to follow safe working procedures
Familiarity with basic terminal crimping tools
Must be able to work independently and under the direction of others - as a self-starter and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Preferred
Knowledge of battery technology, battery safe-handling procedures
Knowledge of electronic components, power, analog, digital
Knowledge of electrical harness design, component specification and ordering, and harness construction experience
Experience troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems and electronics
Experience with printed circuit board layout and schematic entry
Experience with using programming tools for microcontrollers
Demonstrated ability to rework fine pitch SMT and BGA components
