Water / Wastewater Environmental Engineer 4
CDM Smith is a leading firm in municipal water and wastewater engineering, and they are seeking a Water / Wastewater Environmental Engineer 4 to join their Twin Cities team. The role involves designing and managing projects related to potable water and wastewater systems, providing engineering support during construction, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities
Working with large Minnesota-regional and national clients to solve the most interesting engineering challenges in the water / wastewater industry
Designing pipeline assessment, rehabilitation and replacement projects for potable water and wastewater systems
Providing engineering support during design and construction for major regional water treatment projects
Leading design tasks by engaging directly with stakeholders throughout capital project design and construction phases
Participating in project management tasks such as defining scope, managing budgets, and project coordination
Meeting with existing and prospective clients to support our sales team and facilitate the pursuit of current and upcoming project opportunities
Enhancing your technical expertise through collaboration with leading professionals within the organization
Providing mentorship to junior staff through structured guidance, work assignments, and technical reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer)
5 years of related experience
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Knowledge of engineering principles of design. Principles of design include preparation of design documents for municipal projects
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, Etc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
At least five years of experience in water and/or wastewater analysis and design
Experience presenting technical concepts to municipal clients through written reports and presentations
Basic understanding of the design process (i.e., conceptual design through construction phase engineering)
