This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to start or grow a long-term career in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center environments, with responsibilities including cable installation, maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Pull, route, and drop copper and fiber cabling through walls, ceilings, and furniture systems using fish tape and approved methods
Perform pre‑termination tasks including organizing, dressing, labeling, and planning proper cable length and slack
Suspend and support cable using industry‑standard methods such as cable tray, J‑hooks, D‑rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems
Build and organize telecommunications closets, including installing backboards, racks, patch panels, cross‑connects, and fiber‑optic hardware
Perform rack‑and‑stack work for telecommunications and networking equipment
Install grounding and bonding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required
Terminate low‑voltage devices according to project specifications and industry standards
Follow safety protocols, company procedures, and quality guidelines
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite
Qualification
Required
Interest in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center work
Comfortable working in construction environments (indoor and outdoor)
Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
Willingness to learn and follow instructions, drawings, and blueprints
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills
Preferred
Cable installation or structured cabling experience
Punch‑down termination
Low‑voltage systems experience
Rack and stack
Ability to read basic blueprints or project documentation
