Purchasing Coordinator
Scuttlebutt Services, LLC is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to ensure a continuous supply of components to support customer service goals. The role involves liaising with suppliers, managing inbound materials, and collaborating with various teams to minimize disruptions and support customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Align customer requirements with production capacity and supply chain capabilities to ensure timely material availability
Serve as the primary liaison between buyer/planners and suppliers to resolve material shortages impacting production
Perform and document root cause analysis related to material delays, shortages, and delivery issues; participate actively in corrective action efforts
Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm delivery commitments and update production teams on order and shortage status
Manage and monitor the inbound materials process from purchase order creation through receipt
Partner with warehouse staff to verify shipments, receipts, and material accuracy
Follow up with suppliers to establish recovery plans, monitor progress, and drive corrective actions to restore delivery schedules
Review and analyze material planning reports to support procurement of required components
Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Production, and Purchasing teams to minimize disruptions and support customer satisfaction
Assist buyers and management in resolving shipment discrepancies, shortages, customer inquiries, and sales order cancellations
Coordinate with logistics and suppliers to prioritize and manage urgent or expedited shipments
Maintain accurate delivery dates and status updates within the ERP system
Participate in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events aimed at eliminating waste and driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth across the supply chain
Qualification
Required
At least 2 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Industry, Sheet Metal buying, Electronics Component sourcing is required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Strong understanding of Purchasing practices, supplier negotiations and material planning is desirable
Basic knowledge and ability to interpret parts drawings
Demonstrated ability to manage scope changes within High Mix/High volume production environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decision
Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft office suite software
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field preferred
Certificates & Licenses - CPIM, CSCP, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six-Sigma Green Belt preferred
Direct experience implementing lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc.) is highly desirable
