They are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to lead the enhancement of their Posey tool, focusing on developing advanced AI models for civil engineering plans. The role involves collaboration with engineering and production teams to improve the quoting and manufacturing workflow for precast concrete products.

Responsibilities
Design, train, fine-tune, and retrain machine learning models to reliably parse and interpret complex PDF civil plans
Develop robust extraction capabilities to identify and quantify precast concrete structures, including catch basins, manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and other drainage components
Implement intelligent sizing logic that correlates extracted pipe sizes, invert elevations, and other plan data to recommend optimal precast product dimensions and configurations
Build automated submittal generation functionality, producing clean, branded PDF submittal packages for customer review, approval, and production release
Handle variations in plan formats, scales, symbols, annotations, and drawing quality while maintaining high accuracy
Collaborate with civil engineers, estimators, and production staff to validate model outputs against real-world project requirements
Integrate new AI capabilities seamlessly into the existing Posey platform and related business systems
Test, validate, and continuously improve models using diverse datasets of civil plans and precast project specifications
Stay current with advancements in computer vision, document AI, and NLP to drive future enhancements
Document model architecture, training processes, and deployment procedures for long-term maintainability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field
3+ years of hands-on experience developing, training, and deploying AI/ML models in production environments
Strong proficiency with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers
Experience with computer vision (e.g., OpenCV, YOLO, LayoutLM, Donut) and PDF/document processing (e.g., PyMuPDF, pdfplumber, Tesseract OCR, Camelot)
Solid Python programming skills and experience working with large, unstructured datasets
Ability to understand and learn civil engineering concepts related to stormwater drainage systems, pipe sizing, and precast concrete structures (prior domain experience is a plus but not required)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Preferred
Experience deploying ML models in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with construction/engineering software, BIM tools, or plan takeoff applications
Knowledge of agile development practices and version control (Git)
Background in automated document generation or submittal workflows in the construction industry
Excellent communication skills to translate technical work into business value for engineering and sales teams
