Responsibilities
Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor
Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates
Assists in inspection of bituminous and portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving
Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections; keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensures projects meet department standards
Enters and records information regarding construction projects into computer programs
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days
Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination
Basic math skills, consistent with high school level algebra, will be necessary to perform many of this title's duties
